Bio and Resume
Keith Morant has been obsessed with art all his life. Born in England and initially academically trained in art, he broke away to follow his own path of expression. He now lives and works in Christchurch, New Zealand. However, recent years has seen his work impact on the International art scene. Besides many exhibitions in his own country and New Zealand, he has exhibited in New York, Tokyo, Miami, Valencia, Beijing, Istanbul and Italy.
Following his 2006 success in New York, 2007 has seen Morant enjoy even greater success in Europe. He and his wife spent six weeks in Italy where he exhibited with Trevisan International Art in Ferrara at the Castle Estense. Here his work won significant recognition with the award for 'The Manifestation Of The Spirit Through Art'.
In December Morant was selected to exhibit at the great Florence Biennale where 840 artists from 76 different countries competed for accolades. To his great surprise and delight he won the award 'Premio alla Carrierra' - 'The Lorenzo Il Magnifico Award for Lifetime Achievement in Art'.
2008 has seen Morant win yet another International award in Italy. This was at the Palazzo della Bella in Vico del Garno where he received the 'Premio Internationale d'Arte' award.
Following this Morant was represented by his Italian dealers in Bologna at an exhibition called 'Little Treasures' and simultaneously held a solo show in Manhattan through Access Art NY, titled 'Morant in Manhattan'.
Two further New York exhibitions are scheduled for Morant in August and October 2008 and in November he returns to Italy to show again with his Italian dealers Trevisan International Art.
